Sinks & Tapware

GET IN TOUCH

The sink and tap is often considered the centrepiece of your room, so when it comes to choosing the right sink & tap it’s important to not only consider the functionality but also the style.   Other important factors to consider when choosing your sink & tapware are ease of cleaning, size, position, sink mounting and available space.  Kitchen & Renovation Concepts stock a wide range of sinks and tapware to suit both your kitchen, laundry or vanity and can offer expert advise on products to suit your requirements.

Top Mount Sinks

A drop in is the most common style of sink. They are most commonly made of stainless steel and dropped into a hole which is cut into the benchtop. They are clamped from underneath, and plumbing is hidden in the cabinetry below the sink. These sinks are suitable for benchtops made of any material and are an extremely durable option.

Inlaid Sinks

Inlaid sinks are similar to drop in sinks however they feature an additional cut out for the lip around the sink, making the sink flush with the benchtop. This option requires more labour than a drop in.

Undermount Sinks

Undermount sinks are attached to the benchtop from below. There is no lip around the top, and the bench overhangs the sink bowl. However, there are fewer under-mount sinks with drainers. These sinks are only suitable for solid benchtops such as stone. They are very durable however the stone can be easily chipped when moving things in and out of the sink.

Ceramic & Porcelain Sinks

Ceramic & Porcelain sinks are very heavy and easily chipped, cracked or scratched. Furthermore, these sinks must be carefully cleaned as they can be easily scuffed or scratched. They can be decorated with a range of patterns and coloured glazes, making them a stylish and adaptable option. They can be made very deep and used as a butlers style sink.

Concrete Sinks

The popularity of concrete sinking is on the rise as it creates a unique industrial look. Concrete sinks can be made to any size and can offer a lot of customised options. They can be built into concrete benchtops and can be used in place of a ceramic sink but are usually a more expensive option.

Taps

Ensure your tapware complements your style and needs with a choice of tapware from the range of quality products offered by Everhard and Hafele. Basic Mixer Taps

Mixer taps are now a popular choice for kitchens and bathrooms. Hot and cold water from the two valves is mixed before reaching the outlet, allowing the water to emerge at any temperature between that of the hot and cold water supplies.

Standard kitchen and vanity mixers are only available in a limited range of designs, but they are a very affordable option that still adds style and convenience to any project.

Statement Mixer Taps

For a tap that makes a little more of a design statement, Gooseneck, Squareline and Flexible mixer taps are a great option. Gooseneck taps are available in rounded, square line or rectangular designs and come with options such as pull out veggie sprayers. Flexible mixer taps offer ease and convenience of use over your sink while square line mixer taps are a sleek addition to a modern kitchen. Some mixer taps are also available in finishes such as Anthracite, a new and exciting addition to the range of tapware available.
